“There are times in our life where we received an unexpected gift – one that blesses us in ways it is hard to describe. This has just happened to me.
Bryan Williams, who is a wonderful member of our family and serves our country in the Army and a wonderful husband, father and friend has written a beautiful piece for Fathers Day and I would like to share it with you. It has special meaning to me because he has honored my husband Jimmy, who was a father to over 100 young women who lived with us as well as our own children.
When he ask me to marry him, he immediately told me he wanted to be a father. I ask him if that’s why he was asking me to marry him and he said “oh no, I just wanted you to know that.”
We had two daughters through my womb and 100 out of cars. This gift from Bryan brought back beautiful memories of the wonderful husband, father and friend that Jimmy was to us all.
Bryan Williams commented on Day 1 of the Plan – “Through My Fathers Eyes”
Like Marybeth (his wife) I have had many role models and mentors (whether they knew it or not)…but one man made the biggest impact (up to this point at least) – Big Jim Pierson.
Big Jim had a gentle way of nudging all those around him to remember why they exist, who they should be counting on , and who they should be serving, Jesus.
Jim was an encourager. He invoked positivity and strength in others. But through it all, he was on a singular, straight, path aimed at Heaven.
God is reminding me to strengthen my own road out – to get back to trusting Him – keeping Him in front.
I try hard to use my God given skills/tools solve the problems on my life-path.
While I believe God gives us skills and tools to solve problems, it is He who had the instruction Manual to know when and how to use them properly.
Back to the basics – seek God first.
Thank you Bryan for seeking God and sharing His words with all of us, especially me. You truly are God’s man. Be blessed on this Fathers Day.
Love to all you dads – ❤️
