I was attending a Camp Farthest Out (a week away) in July 2002.
I decided to go to a writing class that they provided. We each took a tablet and pen and made our way to a place alone to see what God had for us. This is the result of my time with the Lord.
II Corinthians 3:2 “You yourselves are our letter written in your hearts and known and read by everyone. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”
This scripture tells us that God’s heart and Word are written in our hearts and can be our words. We have the opportunity to not only know His heart, but to share His Word and heart with others. From this scripture God gave me the following
I want to be a letter from Christ, not because of eloquent writing, but because of the very spirit of God within me.
I want to be a letter from Christ full of the Holy Spirit.
I want to be a letter from Christ not stone, hard, unbending or religious, but full of compassion, gentleness, encouragement, mercy and truth.
I want to be a letter from Christ that stays in human hearts not just passes through.
I want to be a letter from Christ with just the right word at just the right time.
I want to be a letter from Christ that pulls people toward the cross with all its cost and onward to eternity.
I want to be a letter from Christ that is signed “until we meet again,” knowing full well if not here, then, in the very throne room of the letter giver.
May we all be living letters!
